Terms of Service
Effective October 13, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Neural Candy LLC, a California limited liability company ("Neural Candy LLC", "we", "us"), which operates Alphaground at https://alphaground.ai (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who can use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States. You must give us accurate account information and keep your sign-in method secure. One person, one account. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
2. What the Service is
Alphaground lets you describe a trading strategy in your own words, turns that description into a precise set of rules, and runs those rules as an agent. An agent is one of two kinds, chosen when you create it and never changed:
- Paper agents trade with simulated ("paper") capital against real market data. No real orders are placed and no real money is involved.
- Real agents, where the Service offers them to you, send real orders to a brokerage account you own and connect, and trade your real money. They are governed by the section on Real agents below.
Agents keep a record of what they decided, what they traded and why. You can follow other people's public agents and, where the Service offers it, build on their public strategies.
The translation from your words into rules is performed by an AI model acting on your instructions. The rules it produces, and the assumptions it made to produce them, are shown to you before the agent runs. Once running, an agent follows those rules mechanically; no person or model decides its trades on the fly.
3. Not investment advice
The Service is a tool for building and testing trading ideas. It is not investment, financial, legal or tax advice, and nothing on it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or to follow any strategy.
Neural Candy LLC is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, bank or exchange, and does not hold or manage money. We do not know your financial situation, goals or risk tolerance and we do not ask. Agents, strategies and rankings on the Service, including those created by us, are shown for information and education only. Any decision to trade real money, anywhere, including by creating a Real agent, is yours alone, and you should consult a licensed professional before making it.
Simulated results have inherent limitations
Every result of a Paper agent is hypothetical. Paper agents trade paper capital, their fills are simulated from market data using the Service's own rules, and no real orders are placed for them. Simulated results do not reflect actual trading and do not account for everything that affects real trading, such as liquidity, slippage, partial fills, fees, taxes, borrowing costs and the effect of your own orders on the market. Because a strategy can be designed with the benefit of hindsight, simulated results are often better than results the same strategy would achieve in practice. Past performance, simulated or real, does not guarantee or predict future results. No representation is made that any agent will or is likely to achieve results similar to those shown. A Real agent that follows the same rules as a Paper agent will not get the same results: its orders meet the real market, wait for your approval if you ask for it, and pay real fees.
Market data
Prices and other market data on the Service come from third-party providers. During a trading session they may be current or delayed, and they may reflect trades on some exchanges rather than the whole market; outside a session they reflect a prior session. They are provided for the Service's own simulation and display, without warranty of accuracy, completeness or timeliness, and may not be redistributed. Do not rely on them for trading decisions outside the Service. A Real agent decides with this data, so an error or delay in it can affect what a Real agent does; the prices a Real agent actually trades at are set by the market and reported by your broker.
4. Your content
You own the strategy text, names and descriptions you write, and the bio and picture on your profile ("Your Content"). The records the Service generates when it runs an agent, including decisions, orders, fills, diary entries and performance figures ("Records"), are generated by us.
So that the Service can work as described, you grant Neural Candy LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable license to host, store, reproduce, run, display, distribute and create derivative works of Your Content, including turning it into rules, generating Records from it, showing it and its Records publicly while the agent is public, and, where the Service offers it, letting other users build on public strategies. This license continues for copies that were already made, for example a strategy another user built on while it was public, after you delete an agent or your account.
You are responsible for Your Content. You promise that:
- you have the right to post it and it does not infringe anyone's rights or breach any confidentiality obligation;
- it contains no personal information about you or anyone else, since public agents and their Records are public and cannot be edited;
- it is not unlawful, deceptive, abusive or designed to manipulate the Service or its rankings.
Deleting and hiding. You may delete an agent or make it private at any time, and you may delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy. What happens inside an agent cannot be edited or selectively removed; that is the point of the record. Deleting your account deletes all your agents, public and private. We keep internal copies of deleted agents as the Privacy Policy describes.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or violate anyone's rights while using the Service;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent who created an agent;
- interfere with the Service, probe or bypass its security, or access data or accounts you are not authorized to access;
- collect data from the Service in bulk by automated means, resell or redistribute it, or use it to train models, without our written permission. Reading public pages as a person, and sharing links to them, is what the Service is for;
- use the Service to present simulated results as real, or to solicit money from others on the strength of an agent's record;
- create agents in a way intended to game rankings or to abuse the AI features, for example by feeding them content designed to make them misbehave;
- post names, descriptions, strategy text, bios or pictures that are sexual, hateful, harassing, violent or threatening, or that target a person.
Reporting and blocking. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. You can report an agent or a person, and block a person, from the ••• menu on their agent or profile; blocked people's agents and profile are hidden for you, and they are not told. We review reports and may hide content, agents or accounts that break these terms.
6. Plans and payment
The Service has a free plan and paid plans. What each plan includes, and its price, is shown on the pricing page, in the app, and again before you pay. Prices on the website are in US dollars and include any sales tax, VAT or GST. In the app, the App Store or Google Play shows the price in your country's currency, as that store sets it.
Who you pay. On the website, paid plans are sold through Link, a service of our payment provider Stripe, which acts as the seller of record for the payment, collects any tax due and handles payment support. Link's terms, shown at checkout, also apply to the payment. Your card statement shows LINK.COM* ALPHAGROUND. In the iPhone app, paid plans are sold by Apple through the App Store, and in the Android app by Google through Google Play; that store charges you, and its terms apply to the payment. A plan is billed in one place at a time: a plan bought in the app is changed and cancelled in the store you bought it from, and a plan bought on the website is changed and cancelled on the website.
Renewal and cancellation. A paid plan renews automatically every month and is charged at the start of each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time: a plan bought on the website from Manage billing on the pricing page, and a plan bought in the app in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Your plan then runs to the end of the month you paid for and does not renew. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refunded and we do not give credit for part of a month; Link may refund a payment under its own policies, and refunds for a plan bought in the app are decided by Apple or Google under theirs, not by us. Deleting your account ends a plan bought on the website at once, on the same terms. It cannot end a plan bought in the app: cancel that one in the store first, or the store keeps renewing it.
Changing plans. Moving to a bigger paid plan takes effect when you make the change, and the price difference for the rest of the month is charged right away. Moving to a smaller paid plan takes effect at your next renewal; until then you keep the plan you paid for. For a plan bought in the app, the store makes the change and settles the price under its own rules.
When a plan ends. When your plan ends or you move to a smaller one, agents the new plan does not run pause: those beyond its number of agents, those that check during the day more often than it allows, and Real agents if it does not include them. You choose which agents keep running; if you do not, the earliest made keep running. A paused agent makes no new decisions. Its buy orders that are still waiting are cancelled, including at your broker for a Real agent; its sell orders that are already waiting are not cancelled; and nothing else it holds is sold, so it keeps holding and its value keeps being tracked. Its record stays, the pause is shown on it, and a private agent stays private. A paused agent picks up again when your plan runs it, or when you change its strategy to fit your plan.
Price changes. If we change the price of your plan we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies, and the new price applies from your first renewal after that. You can cancel before then. For a plan bought in the app, the store also tells you and may ask you to agree before the new price applies.
Nothing you pay us is a fee tied to trading volume or performance; we do not take a share of anything an agent makes, simulated or otherwise.
7. Real agents and brokerage connections
A Real agent trades your real money. You can lose some or all of the money in the connected account. Create one only with money you can afford to lose, and only after you have read the rules it will follow.
Optional, and yours. Real agents are optional. They are available only on the plans that include them and only where the Service offers them to you. The rules a Real agent follows are yours, the account is yours, and the decision to run those rules with real money is yours. Nothing in this section changes the section on investment advice.
Your broker. Today the Service connects to Robinhood agentic accounts. Robinhood ("your broker") holds your account, your money and your securities, executes your orders, and sends you confirmations and statements. Your agreements with your broker govern your account, and you must follow them. Neural Candy LLC is not your broker, never holds your money or securities, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Robinhood. You connect an account by approving the connection on your broker's own site; we never see your broker password. Your broker may change, limit or end access for outside agents at any time, and Real agents may then stop working.
What you authorize. By creating a Real agent you authorize us to read the connected account's cash, positions and orders, and to place and cancel orders in it, as that agent's rules, your approval setting and your limits direct. One Real agent uses one connected account. The agent keeps its own record of the account, so do not trade in that account yourself or through anything else while the agent runs.
Approval and limits. You choose whether every order waits for your approval, only buys wait, or orders are sent without asking ("Autopilot"). An order that waits and is not approved in time is not sent. Orders that do not wait are sent as the agent decides, without any further confirmation from you. You can set the most a single buy may spend. You can stop a Real agent at any time; stopping cancels its orders that are still working at your broker, and does not sell anything it holds.
When we stop a Real agent. We may stop or hold a Real agent at any time, to protect you, the Service or the market. For example, we do so when your broker rejects its orders several times in a row, when the account no longer matches the agent's record, when the connection expires or is revoked, when your plan no longer includes Real agents, or when we pause all real trading. A stopped or held agent sends no new orders. What it holds stays in your account, and managing it is up to you.
What can go wrong. Real orders can fill at prices different from those the agent saw, fill in part, arrive late, be rejected, or not be sent at all. Causes include market conditions, your broker's rules and systems, your approval setting, market data errors and delays, outages, and errors in our software. Buys may be sent as market orders for a dollar amount and may buy fractional shares. Your broker and regulators may charge fees. We do not guarantee that any order will be sent, filled or cancelled, or that it will happen at any particular time. A Real agent's record shows what we sent and what your broker reported; your broker's records are the official record of your account.
Your responsibilities. You are responsible for the connected account. That includes keeping the money in it that you want the agent to use, following the rules that apply to it (for example pattern day trading rules), taxes on its trades, and checking your broker's confirmations and statements. Watch your Real agents and your account, and stop an agent that is not doing what you expect.
Who sees it. Real agents are visible only to you. If we later let you share a Real agent, it will be your choice for each agent.
8. Our content and rights
The Service, its software, design, name and marks, and the agents we create ("house agents") belong to Neural Candy LLC or its licensors. These terms do not give you any right to them beyond using the Service as it is offered. Records generated for your agents may be shown to you and, while an agent is public, to everyone; you may share links to them freely.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the Service at any time and can delete your account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the Service, and we will tell you why where we reasonably can. When the agreement ends, your Real agents stop; what they hold stays in your broker account. The sections on investment advice, Real agents, your content, warranties, liability, indemnity and governing law continue to apply after the agreement ends.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEURAL CANDY LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND SERVICE PROVIDERS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY AGENT, STRATEGY, RULE TRANSLATION, RECORD OR MARKET DATA IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PURPOSE. THE SERVICE MAY CHANGE, PAUSE OR STOP AT ANY TIME.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEURAL CANDY LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, TRADING LOSSES (INCLUDING LOSSES FROM ORDERS A REAL AGENT PLACES, DOES NOT PLACE, OR PLACES LATE), LOSS OF DATA OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Neural Candy LLC and its members, officers and employees against claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these terms, including any claim that you gave someone investment advice or solicited money using the Service.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service or these terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing, you agree to write to legal@alphaground.ai describing the dispute and to give us 30 days to try to resolve it with you.
14. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. When we do, we update the effective date at the top, and if the change is material we will tell you by email or with a notice in the Service before it takes effect. Using the Service after that date means you accept the new terms. Earlier versions are kept and available on request.
15. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we do not enforce a term, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer this agreement; we may transfer it to a successor of the business. Notices to you may be sent to the email address on your account.
